I've grown Ventura celery in this cold climate for over ten years. It's very frost-tolerant (I've harvested after temps in the low 20's) The leaves are huge, good for drying/chopping/freezing for winter use. The stalks tend to be bitter and/or hollow if the season is hot & dry with not enough attention paid to watering. Overall, this is a great variety for gardeners who shy away from celery in this region.
