| I grew two plants of this in large pots this year. I will not grow them again. I\'ve had problems with cracking under my growing conditions. I think the taste is OK. It does seem productive. |

| I don't plant early tomatoes, but this one is always the first to ripen. For about four weeks it produces tons of beautiful tasty deep reddish brown fruits, about 5-8ozs. The taste is delicious, with a slightly smoky flavor. But it succumbs quite quickly to disease after that. However, while it produces, it is prolific, so I keep growing it. It gives me early color before my pink and yellow varieties ripen. |

| Surprisingly productive heirloom. Smaller fruits than cherokee purple, but similar coloration. Texture did tend to get mealy a little faster than other varieties. Also more susceptible to leaf curl towards the end of the season, but that doesn't seem to slow down production. |

| When I compare this tomato to Black Plum it just doesn't measure up, except in it's yield which is much higher.
It's such an easy plant with pretty medium sized tomatoes but just shy of great taste. |

| Good producer of blackish red fruit. Until last year I would have rated it a five but it was a bit watery affecting taste after heavy summer rains. |

| Our first time with these. Every seed germinated, every seedling made it. We gave away dozens of plants to firends. The medium-sized, completely round, brownish/purple fruit grow in clusters and are delicious. |
