This watermelon grew very well, and was our first melon of any kind by at least 2 weeks. We ate the first watermelon a month ago and have not had any other kind of watermelon ripen yet. These are just amazingly early. It is also a piece of cake to determine ripeness - we picked ours with more accuracy than I have ever previously managed to achieve. Now the bad news. They are a bit on the small side, (although I do not really mind that - it is nice to not have half-eaten chunks of watermelon hogging the fridge). They are also just not the best-tasting watermelon, They are not bad, it is just that they are not exciting either. I will continue to plant these, just because it will be great to have a few watermelon so very early. We grew ours on a trellis without difficulty, although most of the melons stayed on or very near the ground anyway - they are very compact little plants and could be grown in even very small gardens.

Easy to grow and tell when ripe. They turn bright yellow. Good melon flavor, but not as sweet as sugar baby. Most had good size, about the same as sugar baby. Had one hill and got 6 melons from it.
