| We got over 120 eggplant from 6 plants the first time we tried them. They gave us the first eggplants only 70 days after transplanting our nine-week old plants. Each plant had been repotted into a 1 gallon black pot. We often picked many at a time, and they kept well for us for 5 or 6 days in a bowl on the table. They definitely like heat, and ours lasted until Nov. 2nd, when I forgot to cover them and frost did them in. Better yield than Listada de Gandia & Antigua varieties that I have grown. |

| Very early, good grower, looks cute and more \'normal\' for customers at market. I haven\'t tasted them. Productive and blemish free. |

| Easy to grow, short sturdy plants yielded early and produced fruit over a long period, usually 1 or 2 at a time. Tasted great when picked small, not bitter. If you wait too long they'll grow larger, but sometimes bitter and the seeds get hard. Also, for best flavor, use within 1 day of picking, or they lose their firmness. i.e. they didn't store well. In the spring start seeds early....the seeds took over 2 weeks to germinate. |

| 70 days here. Robust spreading bush, 2' high X 3' wide, strong stems seldom break or lodge. Elongated purple fruit borne early, and in steadily-increasing numbers, with an exceptionally heavy yield in early autumn. The flavor is very good, with only occasional bitterness... only a few (such as "Casper" and "Pingtung") are better. Thrives on heat, but tolerates cooler temps. My high-pH soil & the prevalence of fungal wilt in my area stunt or kill most eggplant in my trials; but "Diamond" thrives year after year. Vigor, earliness, disease resistance, and yield are all _outstanding_; this is the standard against which I judge all others. |
