Some of the best white sweetcorn you can save seed from. Tastes every bit as good as silver queen and produces very well here with large stalks and ears. uniform rows of great tasting kernels. The only problem I've had with it is some smut.

2009 was a first attempt at this variety. Low yield, not an impressive flavor, not happy wiht the cooler than normal upstate NY summer temps. Will not repeat this crop.

This corn did extremely well in this seasons extreme drought, being the only tall corn to reach over 3 feet high. It produced huge ears with up to three ears a plant. It tasted pretty good and my husband ate it with vigor. I was confused slightly by two things that my strain did. One was that its ears looked very much like Country Gentleman with the shoepeg formation. Second, it attempted to grow ears right in or next to the flowering stalk. I thought that was extremely odd.

In my youth, before hybrids) this was the most popular whiet open pollinated sweet corn. It is better for roasting ears than Shoe Peg (Country Gentleman). Not as tasty as Golden Bantam but heavier yields and a much larger ear.
