Great producer with vigorous vines in 2011, but also a great disappointment because of huge loss from blossom end rot--probably 75% of fruit either unusable or severely stunted, through entire season, not just first setting of fruit.

This variety came highly recommended, but I was disappointed in it. I grew it two years in a row, as the first year was not good for tomatoes in general. I had the same complaint the second year however, and that is they never seemed to be ripe. The first year they didn't even turn red, but last year they did, yet they were still hard and flavorless. Even the few that were fully ripe weren't that good in my opinion.

Good tomato for making deep red sauces, though I grew 3 plants this year and had problems with blossom end rot. (None of my other tomatoes were affected). I'll try it again next year since it may have been due to a surprising week of hard rain in August. Very tasty fruit!

I do not grow a lot of tomatoes for paste - this tomato is also somewhat caverness and could be stuffed - I also tried San Marzano and San Marzano 2 and Redorta strain- If I were to get one of these again the Redorta strain seems to be the better of the 3

Totally Tomatoes sent this to me by mistake as I wanted San Marzano. This variety though took 100 plus temperatures and still produced a good harvest of sweet (raw) tomatoes which would work great in salads and Prego flavored sauce tomatoes. Cooked flavor is that well, but I did notice with skins on it was slightly bitter but lemon juice in processing neutralized that. The seed cavity is open for easy seed removal in slicing them in half. The seed cavitiy is wet in the seed gell, but is a dry tomatoe. The tomatoes held on the 4 ft. vines well. Little rot with the largest problem of grasshoppers eating holes in them. The fruit is bell shaped, 5 inches long and 2 inches wide. Please remember this is a sauce tomatoe meant to be cooked or eaten as an accent in salads. If one wants an eating tomatoe one has to grow the slicing varieties. I prefer heirlooms, but this is a very nice tomatoe which survived scorching heat and still produced a good crop for here. agtG
