Early in its growth, before the borage and tomatoes overtook it, it had a great cinnamony fragrance. |

The basil did not do well in the required plaot with the 3 tomatoes, 2 borage and 2 other basil varieties. It was quickly overtaken by the tomatoes and died. |

I love this cinnamon basil! I just don't know what to do with it. First, it does not taste like basil. Two, it does not taste like cinnamon. It has a different taste, something like Calvin Klein perfume. As a kitchen seasoning, it cannot be used in food in place of genovese basil. God knows, we all tried! Better to put a sprig in your pocket before a hot date.
Wonderful smell, not very good for food. Cinnamon basil grows very easily. It seems to prefer partial shade, growing extremely well when co-planted with my tomato plants. |

Tall, lush. lovely, a bit purplish and truly tastes "cinnamon"-y. |
