This was the second year that we have grown Mr. Big and the yield was disappointing...partially filled pods, despite the large pod size and robust plants.

I had low yields two years in a row. The peas didn't fill the pods well. In my area crops usually take 10-15% longer than the rating. This variety took about 25-30% longer, which I find odd for a cool weather plant. My source was Pinetree Gardens.

This cultivar has a very large pod on a small plant. The vines only grow to a max of about 16 inches, but they do load up nicely with huge pods. They are coming in about 15 days later than Willet Wonder, 10 days later than Dakota. Very easy to pick and shell, But not as productive.
