Grows easily in my garden without noticeable pests or disease. The blandest tasting squash I know of.

I also grew in 2008. Excellent taste when I slice them (don't peel), mix with some oil, salt, and black pepper, bake in the oven until they are brown (if you don't wait until brown, you miss that nutty taste). It has a nice nutty taste, I also liked the skin's taste, very original. I fried, stuffed, chop up and cooked with some sauce. I didn't get any special taste rather than baking. Easy to grow, start to produce later than zuccinis. I was thinking that I should plant more next year. First I got very few, then plants produce so many, more than I need. No resistance to powdery mildow, but they still produce. I think milk-water spray helps some. I pick them up when they are about 4-5 inches. I put it to "my all time favorite" list. Once you taste, you will be addicted. I got the seeds from rareseeds.com

I picked bushels of White Patty pan in my youth on our truck farm. Mild flavor, but can be cooked in may ways. I never tired of eating it. Still grow it for old times sake. If it was good enough for Thomas Jefferson its good enough for me.

This was a very popular squash in my youth. I still grow some for old times sake. It is reasonably productive and reliable. It has a very mild flavor.
