Marglobe's have been my main crop for the last 8 years. The tomato has just enough acid for my taste, grows well here, produces very well and stores better than most standard varieties. We can the tomato and also make tomato sauce. Can't be beat for an all around tomato.

Marglobe is quite tasty both fresh and for a canner, which is our main use for the crop. Consistent producer in normal upstate NY summers.

This is a bright red, tangy tomato that's about the size of a tennis ball. It grew well for me in the Houston area, producing up until mid-summer when it just gets too hot and humid here for tomatoes. The tomatoes toward the end of the season were not uniformly pretty, with cracks or scars at the top on some fruit, but I don't grow them for a beauty pageant. The tomatoes earlier in the season (in my photo) were very nice looking.

When I was young, there were local cannerys. A lot of small farmers grew 5 or so acreas for sale to these. In the 50's , Rutgers began to replace the Marglobe as the preferred canner. The cannerys are long gone, but the Marglobe is still a very good tomato in this class.
