Everything eats the soy bean. I planted the beer friendly bean and they were great. The plants could support themselves and grew in the poorest soil in the garden. I harvested when the bean was bulging in the pod. Then all that is necessary is to steam for 4 minutes and shell out into mouth. I have tried to let some of the bean dry on the bush but some animal really like them also. This variety produced 3 bean per pod. This is the only variety I have grown so I have no reference to Gage the rating.
