| I have tried Japanese Climbing in the past and enjoyed it, so I decided to sample this variety. A hectic spring prevented me from setting up my trellis as planned, so these got to sprawl on the ground. Even for that, they grew straight and quite large! I found that they taste best, and have relatively few seeds, when harvested around 8\\\\\\\" long, but they will grow to be 2+ foot whoppers. My squash in the neighboring bed had powdery mildew, and these cucumbers resisted until quite late in the season. Not nearly as many spines as some of the other Asian varieties, and the fruit didn\'t seem prone to curling around themselves at all. |
