you have to make sure you have loose soil with this variety or else you will be doomed. I plant mine 3 inches apart opposed to 2 inches recomended on the plants packaging. have had almost %100 germination rate! I keep the soil moist using mulch ...these tolerated my slightly pebbled clay base soil well despite being a long variety. yet keep in mind every two days I run a hook in the soil between them constantly cultivating to keep it loose. super super mild yet big on flavor, made these worth the extra bit of effort.
