I grow this one every year. It is early and very tasty. I have never had problems with disease or anything else. It is variously called an Asian melon, or a honeydew. It is 'like a honeydew' in flavor (I don't like muskmelons that much). It is small in size - enough for one or two. Also, it lasts a long time in storage - a cool dry place for a few to several weeks (but quality may suffer if it's too ripe when picked). Try with balsamic vinegar - Wow.

2006 never gave this melon a fair shot for me in South Dakota as it was over 100 degrees and I had to water too much just to keep the plants alive which meant not the best quality tasting melons so I can't really say how sweet they are as mine were bland like all melons are when over watered. On the plus this melon set melons when others would not in the heat. Mine got softball size and the vines didn't cover alot of space. I will grow again as this is one hardy melon and hope for better melons.

Tried to grow this one years ago when Henry Field introduced it. It succumbed to every disease imaginable. Haogen performed beautifully in the same plot, so I have to conclude that melon was just not suited for my conditions.
