Frost Free Season: 163 - 183 days
Soil Texture: Loam
Garden Size: Medium - 400 square feet to 1,600 square feet
Sun Exposure: 6 to 8 hours per day

I grew these peppers for the first time in 2013, and found them to be prolific, disease-free, and quite tasty without too much heat. Although most of the peppers are big enough to make poppers with, as the season progressed, the size of them got bigger and made the poppers even better. I have been growing jalapenos for about 6 years and unfortunately have become less tolerant of the typical heat of most varieties. Tam has been a great alternative, with much less heat than a typical jalapeno (the rating for Tam is 1,000 Scoville units vs. 4,000-6,000 for an average jalapeno.) I would like to try Tam Jalapeno II to see if it's any better, but so far have been unable to find seed for sale.

This is a wonderful mildly spicy jalapeno with good jalapeno taste. Great yield in a northern garden.

This is a milder Jalapeno. It is not heatless like False Alarm or Fooled You but moderate heat. Grows and produces well here.
