I tried, I really did. I gave these plants plenty of room, fertilizer, water and patience. They started producing at the end of August. Long story short, if you want to grow them in a Mediterranean climate like ours in Los Angeles (USDA zone 10b), don't even bother putting them in the ground until July, and expect your peppers at the end of September and in October. They need weeks of temperatures in the 80s and 90s to flower and be happy. The 70s and 80s of July and August are not hot enough.

I had great expectations but this pepper did not turn yellow. I had to use the peppers green. They were a good size and very thick walled. |

Really enormous pepper! Didn't ripen totally yellow here- had streaks of green- but very attractive and tasty. I harvested only three or four fruits per plants but the size made up for that. |
