Sugar Pearl is a very good 2nd early (73 days). Vigorous plant with uniform 8 inch ears with excellent Se flavor. Competes well with Silver Duchess, Sweet Princess and Celestial. Works well here fitting into an extended harvest with main season (Silver King, and late season (Silver Queen).

We had a colder, wetter than usual spring, so it got off to a slow start, but never seemed really vigorous. The ears that fully ripened were delicious, but many weren't full (not pollinated properly?) and there was only one ear on most of the stalks. The kernels aren't very deep, either, so it's better for fresh eating than freezing or canning. Tasty, but not worth the garden space!

This is my 2nd year with this type of corn. Its taste is pretty close to perfection. I didn't have any problem with insect/disease. All the seeds made it, easy germination, they grew more than knee level on July 4th. few of plants were dark purple color and they look weird to me. I got the seeds from Burpee. The package says min 4 rows. I put as 4 x 4 total 16. But they couldn't make like supermarket size. half of the bottom were regular size, the rest of them didn't develop. I don't know why. Maybe I should have put more corns or corns hate tomatoes? The companion chart says so. Although my tomatoes did well next to corns, but maybe that's why corns didn't develop fully. I didn't know the chart when I put them to the ground. Anyway, taste is good, so if you are more experienced than me, they are worthy to try because of its taste. White color corns.
