Not horribly impressed with this one. More for those who like the Clemson types. Very short plants with moderate yield compared to the bigger heirlooms. Flavor is good but toughens up sooner than I would like it too. Could be good in a large pot.

A reliable compact plant that produces well here. Ridged pods are very dark green and hold tenderness a bit longer than Clemson Spineless. Plants get only to about 4 feet but yield well.

Many "heat-loving" plants don't like the extreme dry heat in Phx. Okra, at least Jade, does not mind 110+ and low humidity, as long as it gets watered. I grew a dozen 3.5 - 4.5 foot tall Jade plants which produced (as a group) 8-9 pods per day in mid-summer. It was necessary to pick small pods (< =5") at least every other day to prevent them from getting woody. The plant will (as advertised) make pods 6" (or larger) but my experience is they will be woody. A pod > 5" was as likely to be woody as not. Next year I will try some taller varieties that grow pods to a larger size before they get woody.
