Description: Ornamental hot pepper. Well-branched plants up to 5 feet tall produce leaves and stems that are purple-green with a satin sheen. 1- to 2 1/2-inch leaves have green undersides with purple venation. Young foliage and growing tips are variegated with green, purple, and creamy-white. Plants bear purple flowers with greenish-purple stamens and pendant, 3/8- by 7/8-inch fruit that ripen from greenish-purple to purple-orange to red.
