An old open polliated watermelon, that was listed as a standard variety in Burpees 1888 catalog. It is a good performer, with nicely colored unifirm fruits in the 25 -30 lb class. Not as sweet as Crimson Sweet or some of the newer types but holds its own with Congo or Jubilee, and is better than Charleston Grey.
