On the top of my list. This tomato tastes as good as it looks. Not sure what may have happened with other reviewers, but my plant is no more than 4' (I do prune) and it is producing some of the best tasting tomatoes in my garden (over 8 varieties). Very true tomato flavor, an absolute favorite that I will plant again and again.

A typical bi-color.Not much flavor, but a pretty good producer.Like most of the type, weather of the season makes a big difference in the flavor. But given the rambling habit of the plant(mine were monsters trying to smother two neighboring plants that acually are good tasting)I didn't hesitate to put in my"I won't try that one again" list! What a waste of good garden space.

This plant was given to me by a neighbor who thought they were buying a hybrid and didn't want "anything strange." So, it was an afterthought, shoved into a smaller square and continually neglected. It did very very well, I had good production from it (it was a great year here) and great flavor. I've found that some tomato plants like a bit of shade and I think Mr. Stripey liked being stuck between all of those other plants. My only dissapointment with it was I was hoping it would be more stripey- it's really just a bi-color, this aside, it's definitly worth planting.

I won't mess around with this loser again. Put transplant in ground early june. Plant is ten feet tall now (aug.). No tomatoes whatsoever. Didn't even have flowers until it reached 7 feet. Flowers don't turn into tomatoes? Plant has been taken care of in the same manner as the other 100 tomato plants and it is the only loser we have ever had. Our season is over in about a month so it is not possible for this plant to produce anything.

Mr. Stripey is a wonderful tasting tomato that is very large. I could eat these like candy. However, because of their size the amount of tomatoes produced is smaller than your average slicer. The skins are thin, but I never had a problem with them being mushy or splitting. This is my favorite heirloom tomato so far.

This is a large bicolor beefsteak which will produce here. It is a very soft tomato which will turn to mush quickly after ripening in the Georgia heat. Very thin skin, which cracks readily and invites all kings of pests to supper. Taste is average for the type. Yields are low to moderate.
