Have grown the bi-color variety for the last four years and find it to be consistently the absolutely best corn I've ever tasted home grown or farm stand grown. Never gets a starchy or too old taste. Also will hold in the refrigerator for several days. Our ground warms up late so harvest didn't begin until mid August in the 2014 growing season. Will try to get it in the ground earlier next year, using row cover if necessary to get earlier yield. Couldn't recommend this variety more highly. |

I had a fantastic crop this year, the weather cooperated so very little disease. I didn't give this a 5 in taste cause I grew the variety candy corn a couple of years ago and it was sweeter. I will try candy corn again this year.
My plot of corn is about 30 by 30 and was able to do it all with soaker hose and I think that made a big difference being able to put water where it is needed. |

The sweetest ever corn, I grow 3 cultivars of Mirai, it is almost impossible to differentiate them taste wise. For hyper-sweet corn lovers, this is heaven. Extremely tender pericarp, even edible raw. Cook only 2 to 3 minutes.
Very productive, 2 rows per plant, some times 3 when planted at 6 inches interval.
This is NOT an sh2 by any means. It is an shQ, and there is a HUGE difference in the mouth...
People who like ''corny'' corn should avoid it, the sugar will be over-powering for them, The kernel is small and again, very, very tender, as opposed to sh2, which I never will grow again after tasting an shQ. |
