Even in NY's cool climate, it does very well. Easy to grow. I started the seeds March 18. Last year and this year, germination rate was 100%. On June 10, I transplanted them to my garden. I have long plastic pots from $1 store. I divede inside with cardboards to 10 pieces. I start the seeds in 2oz portion cups, then transplant there. I saw that this way, I have very strong plants with healthy roots. Those black plastic 6 packs are too small.
I picked my first 2 eggplants on July 31. More will be ready in few days.
They are very slim, so they don't need very long time to grow. I think that's one of the best choices for cool climates. Taste is excellent. I gave 4 star for yield. Because it's actually hot climate veggie, and I guess it does its best on the South states. I also gave 4 stars to overall rating, because it's hybrid, not open polinated. I bought the seeds from growitalian.com |
