This is a famous pepper from Spain. My source spells it without the e. Anyway, I had some at a Tapas Bar - simply fried in a bit of olive oil with sea salt. Fantastic. The plants do very well here. They keep producing and producing. The description is rather misleading - most of these are never really spicy, but every once and awhile there is a hot one. That's one reason they are so beloved. Red, they make great pepper flakes or paprika. The flesh is too thin for them to make great roasted peppers, however. These are very much like the Japanese Shashito. I had them side by side and they were remarkably alike in flavor. Padron tend to be a little larger in diameter.
