This would be a great onion if the seed wasn\\\'t owned by Seminis and the money didn\\\'t go to Monsanto. |

These are a hybrid onion from Monsanto, a situation I try very much to avoid, so it pains me to admit that these are about the sweetest onion you will find. They grow as easily as any other onion for me, meaning that with my sandy soil I need to keep them well watered, but they grow well and without trouble. My family loves these as a raw onion in salads and on burgers, but we find they are so mild that any flavour pretty much disappears when they are cooked. |

I have grown this variety for 5+ years now and has been reliable every year for me in the North. Water is about an inch a week. I push the tops over if they do not fall around end of August and pick soon after to dry well. They tend to have small necks and I find they keep much better than advertised. I store mine in onion bags hung in the dark basement and will have mild tasting onions until April/May sometimes June. |

This is an excellent onion to grow most anywhere. Does need a good amount of water to form large bulbs but well worth it. This onion has a very hot smell when you cut it but is quite mild. Ours store well all winter long and we have a looong winter. |

Candy produced excellent sized onions for me but the tops never really dried down and thus the onions didn't store very long. Still I would grow it again. |

This is my first year growing Candy, but it performed well inspite of very wet weather, producing large very sweet onions. |
