In 2008, germination was about %100. I direct sowed. I thought very heavy rains washed out the seeds, I lost my hope, started again. But they showed up later. They grew very thinny and short. In 2009, I started them indoor on March 16. Germination rate was about %100. I put them to the ground on April 16. This year I added some lime (soil ph was 5.6) and changed the location, I put them to a sunny place. I also spread some wood ash on May. They went crazy. They have been growing in good size. The only thing to be careful is to hill them time to time to have them taller white section. I was not successful about it. I think I waited too long. I got the seeds from www.growitalian.com
