Had good luck with this variety even in NE Arizona which is at the south end of the intermediate-day zone. 35# from one bunch.

First time I tried onions from seed, these were easy to grow (started inside in newspaper cups), and were a very successful crop. We found that eating the onions fresh from the garden was great, and the tops were delicious too. We grew them in a raised bed with 5-6 inch spacing, which worked since it was a very wet first part of summer. Next time I want to transplant them into the ground sooner.

The best onion for storing and very easy to plant. If you want large 4" & larger onions use PLANTS instead of bulbs. Onions are heavy feeders and they can be planted in Black plastic or landscape cloth. Just put down your cloth and cut 4" rows in it. Prepare your soil by digging in some compost or manure. Use Preen every few weeks to fertilize and cut down weeds. You'll have big onions no matter what variety you plant.
