The main issue with the onions was the germination rate and slow growth. Once established, they did fine. There also does not seem to be a significant difference between the direct seeded plants and the ones started early. Tasted it raw and it had good red onion flavor. |

We only received 7 tiny transplants. Only 5 grew.\r\nNone grew larger than a silver dollar. They were in the same bed with my regular onions that grew to hardball and softball sizes. |

Very poor germination. Of the 4 plants that did germinate, 3 produced small, red and tasty bulbs. |

This variety did well as green onions, but did not do as well for fully developed onions. Spotty germination but those that did grow had delicious flavor. |

Very poor seed germination of both seeds started indoors in mid-March and seed sown directly in garden in mid-April. By August, 2 inch bulbs of an attractive red/purple color formed. Onions tasted great. |

Seed germinated at a rate of about 40%, much less than package said. Onions never got big enough to harvest as bunching onion, then produced very small bulbs. Taste not evaluated. One seedling looked like a (white) leek. Some plants were affected bu allium leaf miner. |

I planted two trays of scallions. This onion was tasty and trouble free. It makes a very pretty scallion. |
