This has been a good year for a trial, since we are in stage 2 drought. This is the newest and earliest member of the group that includes Silver Princess, Silver King, and Silver Queen, all of which have been superb for me in the past. Silver Knight is early, ears are small, but probably more so because of the climatic conditions. The later maturing Silver Choice and Chubby Checkers are not sizing up either, It appears to be competitive but can\'t be compared to trials in previous years. While it has decent flavor for an early corn, it is way inferior to its big sisters, Silver Princess, Silver King, and Silver Queen. |
