We planted too many of these and they have been kind of terrifying. They just keep coming... and coming... and coming. We have had bean yellow mosaic virus (I believe) in the garden this year but these have been minimally affected - just a few damaged leaves at the bottoms of the plants. These are very reliable, steady producers, although they did slow down when it got very hot and dry in the middle of July, but now it has cooled off a bit and rained some, they are just churning out the beans. They have also gotten absolutely huge - they went up to the top of our 7 foot trellis, and now, in late august, they are well on the way back down again. These are your absolutely classic green bean, rather dark and ever so slightly velvety with a rich deep flavour. Even the flowers are pretty; a soft butter yellow. They freeze well. A garden standard. Must be picked daily for best beans. UPDATE 2013: Poor resistance to anthracnose.

Most uniform size of all the pole green beans I have tried. Holds well, picks well and the processor just told me how nice they are to can. Blossom set seems to come in waves, assuring a consistent harvest. If you like pole beans, you will like this more refined bean. Absolutely stringless! 6 stars! just keeps coming & sets clusters of beans at a time-easy to pick! 20' row yields about 3/4 bu. every 3-5 days.
