This is a symmetrical style artichoke softneck garlic from the Lombardy region of Italy. When well grown, the bulbs can reach more than 3 inches across. Plant cloves 6 or more inches apart. I had excellent results from the inner cloves, but not from the outer cloves. It's possible that chemical treatment in either Italy or in the U.S.A. (relative to importation) may have affected the bulbs. The outer cloves started to sprout and then just stopped. Bulbs grown from the inner cloves grew well and are very attractive. Maturity is early to mid-season. The texture is excellent and the flavor is very full.
