We tried Blue Wind when Packman became unavailable. I\\\'m a market gardener and grow at least 25 acres of vegies / year and usually 4-5 plantings of broccoli with at least 1500 - 2000 plants of various varieties. Blue Wind was absolutely the worst variety we ever tried. It was a disease magnet in every planting. We often have little disease in our cole crops unless we have a lot of rain. But that year Blue Wind would show the tell tail triangular leaf lesions before any thing else and then it would spread to the rest of my cole crops. The heads weren\\\'t nearly as early as Packman either. And didn\\\'t have the nice side shoots Packman has.

This variety did the poorest in my trials. It was first to produce but with small heads that were open in habit and bolted instantly. After cutting back they didn't do any better and ended up being pulled. Not recommended.

Wasn\'t that impressed withthis cultivar, it did ok but not great. Loose heads and only fair taste, yields not really up to par. Didn\'t seem to be very heat tolerant

This cultivar is quick early to produce. Medium sized plants with medium heads. I like Early Dividend better in direct competition and Galleon, Superdome and Everest are overall superior to Blue Wind in the Early bracket. A solid performer, but not at the head of its class.
