Had to start seeds in pots April since I couldn\'t get into the gardens (due to Covid restrictions) until late May. Transplanted seedling in late May and by late June started harvesting the kohlrabi. The \'bulbs\' increase in size quickly but were still very good at 3". The taste is very mild and texture crunchy, making it great to eat uncooked. |

Quick growing plant, with fruits averaging 4-5" in diameter, taking up a lot of space. Difficult to harvest (stems were quite tough). Attractive when sliced and used to dip and in salads. Mild flavor, similar to cucumbers. |

If I were to grow just one kohlrabi, this would be it! It is one of the fastest, but also keeps well once full grown, not turning woody, and has no problems with bugs or dieseases. It also has great flavor, stores well, and stays crispy in storage. Other OP purples did not do nearly as well.

I planted this variety once. I planted (in north Florida) in early October and started havesting in mid-January. The plants grew well and produced good sized bulbs that were tender and of good flavor. It appeared to tolerant to the conditions including surviving temperatures to the mid-twenties. I had no problem with insects or disease. |

Best and most beautiful kohlrabi. Better tasting than "Early Purple Vienna". |
