Alicante was a nice little tomato in my Northern Virginia garden. The productive plant came out as a red and almost the size of a golf ball in my commercial container. The vines are vigorous easily getting to at least 6 feet in length. The description says it is popular as a boiling tomato in England but I just ate them raw and they had a decent tomato flavor somewhat better than store bought.
