Onions are more of an advanced garden vegetable. In places like Indiana you want southern exposure with full sun, start as early as possible in the season. In this variety we buy sets and plant them around March 18th. We harvest July 1st. They are as uniform as you can get, a little over 1lb per onion after clipping the tops and roots. They are very mild and sweet, excellent onion for finicky people. In my opinion one of the best onions ever. They usually put out 12 to 15 leaves and get about 3 feet high max. They are not as apt to fall over like a Walla Walla. I can not say enough about them. Last year was a historic drought in Indiana they did great withstanding heat waves for a month. This year it is almost historic rain amounts and the plants still look awesome. Great all around onion, my only wish is that they would keep like a copra....if only.

I did not get size from these in MN. Pretty, not sweet but normal spicy we thought. Will not grow again in the north.
