| I had good success with this variety for several years in north Florida. I would probably still be planting them, but the company I was buying the seed from stopped selling it.

| This has been the best cuke for my climate, but it is getting harder and harder to get the seeds. Two years ago a 100 foot row produced 400 pounds of cukes. Last year I couldn't get the seed at all and the sources currently listed on this site do not have them this year (2009). I have tried Diva and Emir Prolific with very poor results. Though the cuke is similar, there were production problems I do not encounter with Amira.
Any suggestions for substitutes or other sources where it is available?

| Fruit quality and taste is excellent. A nice color contrast to the usual green cukes. I found that mice have a preference for them as well. |

| One of the easiest to grow and most rewarding cucumbers . These light green, spine-free, completely cylindrical cukes are thin skinned, sweet and very crisp. The skins do not have to be removed. Save space and grow them on a fence or trellis. |
