This is my rating from 09/06/2009 that was previously posted erroneously under the SU type by the same name.
I grew 3 varieties of corn this year. Sugar Dots, GottaHaveIt, and Peaches&Cream (main crop). I grew these in terrific soil, 4 to the square foot and pampered them with 2 inches of water a week, a couple of feeding of miracle grow, and 2 applications of 10-10-10, the result was 8-9 foot plants, good sized ears (not monsters) in the 7-8 inch range, smaller 2nd ears and flavor that was stellar. I shared this corn with a couple of people and they thought it was the best tasting corn they ever had, beating out Sugar Dots grown in the same soil at the same time. Interestingly this seed was a couple of years old and still came in with a 90% germination rate. I may have found THE corn for my area.
I would also suggest people read FarmerDill's rating for this corn under the SU listing (as he obviously was referring to the SE corn) as FarmerDill has forgotten more about growing then I will ever know. |
