First time growing this and very impressed with the yields and uniformity of the fruit. Our early planting (transplanted in mid-May) succumbed a little sooner than we hoped to disease (maybe due to our heavy spring rains this year?), but the direct seeded planting came through beautifully, continuing to produce despite the cucumber beetle onslaught.

Possibly due to weather conditions, this year it was not a uniform shaped cucumber. Skin had scabs on it. Okay for peeling but not for pickling. JD

I love this variety. This is the first year I've grown it, and it has proved to be a challenging year with an overabundance of rain early and then a lack of rain for far too long. Calypso has come through. The plants are happily climbing their support and giving us nice, sweet, crunchy cukes. When the lack of rain is severe they can, like most cukes, be a little bitter on the end, but this vanishes with rain or a little extra watering. I will definitely grow this one again.
