While the name is unfortunate, General Lee is a highly productive cuke with good qualities and disease resistance. Good firmness and flavor, it even makes a decent pickle. Grew 4 plants over an arching wire trellis in a 4\'x4\' and had more cukes than I could deal with.

I have raised this cucumber for several years both in the KS heat (100+) and the more milder PA summers. It always produces lots of straight and very good eating cucumbers and is very hearty.

Excellent yield. Good taste, not bitter, not too seedy. Produced well in my garden with very little care.

A very vigorous grower and an excellent slicer. Very uniform in size and color. A top performer among traditioner slicers. Has better disease resistance than Straight Nine.

General Lee is a strong variety. The cucumbers have a dark green color and stand out in the patch. They have a high yeild and seem to resist disease well.
