Description: (Solanum lycopersicum). Standard beefsteak main season type tomato that has been grown in the U.S. since the late 1800s. Vigorous indeterminate plants produce 10 to 24 ounce flattened fruit with deep red skin. About 80 to 90 days to maturity from transplant. Also know as Ponderosa Scarlet.

This was the standard "beefsteak" tomato in the first half of the 20th century. It is large and productive but tends to catface badly.
