| Description: |
(Cucumis melo). Mother Mary Pie heirloom muskmelon type. Vines produce early maturing small (about 6 ounce), yellow, round fruit with white flesh and smooth, occasionally netted bright yellow-orange skin that can be peeled like an apple. Harvest while still firm (before vine slip) for best eating qualities. Original seed was preserved by W.R. Lorence, whose Minnesota grandmother made pies from a combination of this melon and apples in early 1900s. About 75 to 85 days to harvest from planting seeds.
