Description: Brassica oleracea var. italica. Erect plants with minimal side shoots produces medium size main stems with reduced hollow stem incidence. Smooth, dark green, medium sized beads, and minimal cat eye crowns have minimal bract leaves during hot weather. Days to harvest 80 days from seed or 55 to 65 days after transplanting.

Garden Size: Large - More than 1,600 square feet (40' x 40')
Sun Exposure: More than 8 hours per day

Lieutenant is an erect variety with minimal sideshoots. Medium green crown with medium beads. Heads are smaller and more erratic than competing varieties.Lack of sideshoots and less than optimal yield means I cnnot reccomend this variety to home gardeners.
