Description: Lactuca sativa. Open pollinated. Summer crisp / French crisp / Batavian lettuce type that is at first open, much like a loose-leaf lettuce, then matures into a heavy, compact bunch or head. Plants produce dark red leaves. Resistant to bolting, heat, and tip burn. Disease resistant variety. Resistance to bottom rot, downy mildew races 1-16, 19, 21. About 45 to 48 days to maturity.

Produced well and tasted very good. Lasted even when it started getting hot - in the beginning of July. Notice the Praying Mantis in the photo - beneficial insect.

So good! Beautiful, flavorful heads, slow to bolt. Great germination and growth during hot, dry conditions. Would highly recommend.

Multiple harvests and very tasty. No problems even in the heat. Looks beautiful\r\nin rows of Cherokee and Magenta.

Sown April 12, great germination rate Harvested May 22. Second sowing June 21 had a good germination rate despite heat. Harvested July 12. Leaves still tasty, not bitter.

Pretty red leaves. A bit bitter by the time we grew it in our how summer. Texture was okay.
