Received these as seedlings that never recovered after transplanting from the tiny pots they were in. Flowered but never grew well and died early. |

When first transplanted, the Phacelia plants grew rapicly and were attractive, with fern-like leaves and pretty flowers. They quickly grew into shrubs that were borderline unruly and way too big for a small-space bed. They started dying off before mid-season. . |

Phacelia was not a vigorous grower for us. The flowers were lovely though and I never saw the plant without a bee or other pollinator visiting it when it was in bloom. Our plants died quickly after setting seed. The seed structures were interesting to look at though. |

Planted transplants on 5/19. 6/5: 5 plants doing well. 6/8: 2 plants blooming. Growing and blooming through 7/10, with some bottom leaves browning. On 7/13, some plants pulled, dying. 2 plants left. 7/17: one dead plant pulled, one left. 7/20: the one plant that is left is struggling, bottom growth browning. By 8/10, all plants have been pulled, none surviving. Long bloom period? |
