'Green Machine Zucchini' Squash - Summer

Description: USER ENTERED : (45 days) F-1 hybrid. A bumper extra-early ongoing crop of medium-dark green shiny zukes is a fun ride all summer. In 2019 we trialed more than 20 modern zuke varieties and compared them to market standard Raven. The results were stunning: despite the listed days to maturity, Green Machine was pumping out easy-to-pick perfect dark zucchinis 7–10 days before Raven. And Raven was outpaced, too: Green Machine made mild nutty dense fruit at a 4:1 ratio all season. While not spineless, the open habit and wide branch spacing allows quick picking of unscratched fruit. Tip-top disease resistance. Intermediate resistance to PM, CMV, ZYMV, WMV.
Days To Maturity: NA

Super productive with good disease resistance and shrugged off vine bores and kept producing up until frost. Straight dark fruits with tender skins.

This was a great variety for me in NC and my parents in VA (6b). Very quick growing and prolific. We have a lot of powdery mildew pressure here, but it did fine. The squash vine borers are a problem though not related to the variety…

This is the best summer squash I have grown and my new favorite. Living near the coast where it stays cool and foggy, we often have issues with powdery on many crops, including squash. I always try to get varieties with some resistance to PM. This did not disappoint and still had almost no PM when we were done with it. The flavor was very good, it was easy to pick with an open habit, and we had months of very good zucchini, so much so we got tired of it. I picked them between 5-7 inches long. Normally I remove squash plants when the PM gets too bad, but it never did last summer. I planted it again this year.
