My first year growing celery. I grew 7 varieties and this was my favorite. Taste is much stronger than store bought. I didn\'t have any problems with insect pests or diseases. It took the entire growing season to go from transplants to being large enough to harvest (in September). When I went to harvest I discovered that all of my celery had met the same fate--they all looked beautiful and healthy and none of them had any roots! They were just standing up in the soil and the slightest nudge would tip them over. There were all sorts of tunnels underneath them, so I don\'t know if it was rats or voles, but something enjoyed my celery a whole lot more than I did.\r\n\r\nWhile I find the idea of growing my own celery inciting and interesting, I will not be attempting it in the next few years. It took up way to much space (remember, I did plant several plants of 7 varieties) and care (watering), for what I got back in return. \r\n\r\nI am giving it a low rating, simply because of the length of growing time, lack of productivity and because it was rodent bait.

Seedlings started very early. In ground by early June. Pretty. Tasted mid-July-nice celery flavor, very stringy. September harvest had very strong flavor.

Flavorful in stir fry but too tough and stringy to eat raw. Good growth and yield.
