I grew the Spirit Hybrid. We had a very cool summer, and it did not do well. Only produced 1-2 pumpkins per vine. Vines didn't seem very vigorous, pumpkins also weren't very big. Probably will try again in different location.

Excellent pumpkin. Ideal for small gardens and short seasons. Very dependable. I grow these every year (for 20 years.) I don't do anything special. Just give them some compost, don't bother to water after they are established, although they grow bigger with regular watering. They still produce nice sized 10-15 Lb pumpkins every year, great for Jack-o-lanterns, (I use them for pie and they are okay for this, too.) Highly recommended. My parents in NH zone 4 have also been able to raise nice sized pumpkins that ripen before frost.

I grew these for my children back in 2003 for fun. In May, I planted three plants alongside my backyard fence in a 6ft by 3ft space not expecting much since I was under the impression pumpkins required a lot of space. By late August I had harvested 4 medium sized (10-12 lb) and 2 small pumpkins. I did not do much in terms of care other than water and minimal weeding. For those with limited space in the backyard this is an excellent choice. To save even more space it can also be trellised with crop support as the pumpkins develop.

This was my first attempt at pumpkins and I just had a few plants. They were not my priority this summer, and were more or less ignored most of the season, and filled with weeds. However, they still produced several carving size pumpkins and many small ones. They were a nice shape, too.

This was my first attempt at backyard pumpkins, but I was very pleased. I grew from one package of seeds, three large typical Jack o' Lantern pumpkins and five smaller ones. Enough for me.
