I germinated 5 plants in 5" pots and transplanted them on May 30th in a 1/2 - 3/4 sun spot. I got 10 pumpkins, mostly jack-o-lantern type, a few nice size elongated ones. Fruits were good looking but varied in size. I direct-seeded a second batch in mid-June in a full sun spot. It did not fare too well. Could have been tight spot, late start, or low grade soil. 4 stars because I did not have any experience with similar pumpkins to compare with. Will plant again. |
