This variety grew well at both the CCE garden and a garden 14 miles north of CCE. The flavor was unlike Basils grown in our area, with hairy leaves and an odd flavor. Its nor something one one would normally enjoy with tomato salads.

Grew beautifully! The germination of the seeds was excellent. It had great smell and was very slow to bolt and even then we didn\'t see a decrease in leaf vigor. This was easy to harvest and one plant gives you plenty of leaves. We had no pest problems.

Struggled to get established due to not getting watered enough but once established grew to 4 feet and thrived in this hot dry summer weather. Taste was not popular, more like oregano than basil.

It was a very vigorous plant that grew well even in a non-irrigated bed. It grew quite large, over 3 feet. It has an intense peppery and clove like scent which worked well in stews. However, because of its unique flavor, you could not use it as a substitute for sweet basil. It was a fun herb to try.
