I like to try a mix of lettuces, but this is now on the short list of my must have lettuces each year. More ruffled than new red fire or red sails but with a better more substantial texture and taste, and I thought a deeper color. Held up well in wet 2008 and lasted till almost the end of June before bolting (zone 5). Not a summer lettuce but held well for the spring lettuces before the summer lettuces matured.
